Isabel Vermeulen is a queer artist located in Calgary (Alberta, Canada) who explores themes of trauma, bullying, and physical and mental health in their own art practice. Using previous experiences they lived through, Isabel utilizes ink painting, sculpture and fabric as a medium to express and work through her traumas. These issues not only affect them as a person but other people in the world who have experienced similar traumas, whether it'd be physical, mental, or experienced by a loved one. Isabel's work is used to highlight current issues and a method of empathy for others.
